All Souls Day is a day where we pray for our elders who aren't among us anymore. So they rest in peace, we light candles so they can find the light to their destination, should they be on their journey to the other side.
In Philippines, they celebrate the day in a very unique way. The family members gather at the cemetery, pray together and spend time at the cemetery.
It turns into a time of joy where everyone, the ones here and those who are gone, come together, spend some moments of joy and seek blessings.
I spent a night at the cemetery with a friend and her family to celebrate All Souls day in 2014. It was a family picnic :) Kids played games, we sang, into the night and camped there.
